About Clare
Having attended an international school in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for two years and travelled widely as a young adult, Clare understands the value of international experience and education. She is now deeply embedded in France, having moved from London to Paris in 2005 before settling in the western suburbs, which have many international schools, to raise three bilingual, bicultural children.
Thanks to her past life as a journalist, lawyer, and legal translator, she brings to her school visits an eye for the details that flesh out the picture. Her experience working in bilingual and monolingual education in France and elsewhere helps her place what she sees in schools in context. Her favourite part of the role (apart from the writing) is the talking. Talking to school leaders during and after school visits is a privilege, as they share their passion for teaching and for the establishments they run. Talking to parents willing to reveal their innermost thoughts and feelings about their children's education is another privilege.
Clare holds a certificate in child protection for staff in international schools from The National College and the TES child protection certificate.
