About Emma

Emma O’Driscoll is a born and bred north Londoner. Educated both privately and at a state grammar school in Barnet, she holds a degree in psychology and media from Leeds University. Her career saw her work at top PR agencies with high-profile FMCG clients before moving into broadcast where, for over a decade, she marketed National Geographic Channels UK.

Emma joined The Good Schools Guide in 2022, bringing with her a ‘keen marketing eye,’ to see beyond the glossy school websites, ‘As a marketer by trade, I fully support the need for schools to have slick marketing campaigns, but as a reviewer I love uncovering a school’s true personality through my visits, chats with staff and parents, and most importantly, the pupils themselves.’

Emma’s expertise is further enriched by her own experience as a parent of two secondary school-aged children, both of whom she recently navigated through the notorious north London 11+ selection process. As such, she is well-placed to provide solid, first-hand insights into selecting the right fit school. Emma has completed safeguarding and child protection training.
