About Freya
Freya graduated from Manchester University in philosophy and English. Undecided whether to pursue a career in teaching or law, she studied both - a PGCE at Kings College, London in the week and a GDL at BPP law school at weekends. From a long line of educators, it surprised no one that she opted for teaching.
After teaching English in the state and independent sectors in London, Freya landed a job at a leading international school in Singapore. She loved the cultural melting pot of pupils and was thrilled to explore Asia (land and sea) in holidays. Back on home soil, she became a specialist teacher of high ability children and reviewed books for broadsheets. She loves a good book.
Freya returned to the Cotswolds in 2016 with her husband, two children and wayward dog. Her daughter attends a nearby girls’ boarding school and her son is in his last year at primary. Freya loves writing for The Good Schools Guide and has recently completed their safeguarding training. She says, ‘Each school is a unique microcosm- there's always something quirky and brilliant. Visiting is both pleasure and privilege.'
