About Ilana
Ilana has worked in marketing and user engagement her entire career. After a stint at The Telegraph, Ilana created and led user engagement departments at the Daily Mail and then The Sun. Ecommerce followed and Ilana worked for ASOS.com - where she created their social media and engagement teams - and then consultancy came next, with clients including household names such as Trinity Mirror, Arcadia Group (Topshop, Topman, etc) and River Island, and also smaller start-ups that eventually ran out of funding before they could make their mark. Ilana also led marketing for a leading global podcast platform, juggling a marketing team in four international offices.
Before joining The Good Schools Guide - and becoming a mother to her daughter, who loves to join work video calls when she's off school with yet another cold - Ilana admittedly didn't know much about schools and education. Now, however, she's the go-to person on the school playground for advising on local school choices. She's also become that parent who grills her seven-year-old's poor teachers ... she's sure they're delighted when they receive yet another email from her!
