About Mary
After teaching, Mary moved overseas, she ran an arts centre, then established a drama department in the local international school. Alongside all that, she'd been writing plays, short stories and commercial copy for years, so one could say that when she started writing for The Good Schools Guide in 2022, she finally found a place for her interests to hold hands and run off into the sunset.
A habitual juggler though, Mary's continued working in SEN departments (specifically autism support) and is now training to be a specialist teacher, writing a book on autism in schools and teaching LAMDA at the weekends. She lives near Guildford with her husband and three children.
