Mariella Tandy

Mariella moved to Portugal with her family in 2023, having spent most of her career in magazines, writing for Tatler, Vogue, and Country & Town House. That same eye for detail and instinct for cutting through the noise now defines the way she approaches school selection. 

As the mother of children with SEN, and having navigated her own share of tricky decisions when relocating her family, Mariella is well placed to help other parents find the right path while avoiding the pitfalls she encountered along the way. She believes choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family can make, particularly in a landscape that is changing fast, with many new options on offer. Mariella likes to look beyond the glossy brochure to find the real essence of a school, helping every family find the place that's right for them.
